Hello!

This is a blog dedicated to documenting sewing self drafted and indie sewing patterns, consuming less, being better to people and the earth, creative exploration, and my life and times in Rochester, NY.

New Home Studio Tour

I finally am moved out of the Hungerford and into the new studio space in our house. I've made a few things in the space, but I think the true moment of new beginnings came when Sam installed my AC all of 2 hours ago. Speaking of which: what the heck? it's 90 degrees here in rochester today. I'm so sweaty I may just straight up melt into my own carpet.

My machines are a Singer 150th Anniversary Machine from 2001 and my Serger is a Brother 1034D.

My Funko Pops keep falling off this shelf when I serge, so I'm going to have to find a new place to put them soon! I also collect weird lamb ceramics (to the dismay of my very utilitarian boyfriend)

My DIY macrame planters were fun to make and definitely do the job, but they'll never be as pretty as a Hitch & Cord piece. I used these instructive videos to figure it out for myself.

My peg board is a plain chip pegboard from Lowes that I spray painted white and used a cross stitch pattern to paint the rose. It wasn't receiving much utility in my old space, but I added a lot of features when I moved my space and now it's one of the things I am most thankful for. I also love having my little ironing board up and out of the way along with my iron.

I used to have a 30 peg thread storage... thingy. It probably has a name. But I filled that out pretty quickly in the old space so I graduated to this 60 peg board which I'm very happy with.

Another thing I absolutely love about my space in the house is the closet storage space I have in this room. I can put away all the ugly fabric storage and stuff that doesn't need to be out all the time and have a nice clean workspace when I need it. I can also hang up all of the samples I sell at craft shows which keeps them nice and tidy.

And finally we come to pattern storage. Still a work in progress, I keep my patterns in a filing cabinet I painted white and stack my printer on top of. I type out the labels on my typewriter because I'm twee AF, but it is becoming slightly tedious.

I hope you guys like this little virtual tour! The studio has nice lovely light which allows me to photograph outfits in here, which will come in very handy when winter finally hits here in Rochester.
