Kids ask a lot of questions — why is the sky blue, how do birds fly, what's on the other side of the hill. It can feel endless, but the Bible treats that kind of curiosity as a gift, not a nuisance. From the World English Bible, here are four verses that show wonder, questions, and exploring the world as something God actually invites.
Curiosity in a young child can look like constant "why" questions or wandering off to examine a bug on the sidewalk. If you want ideas for turning that energy into calm, guided conversations at home, our page for parents has more resources.
1. God's works are worth pondering
"Yahweh's works are great, pondered by all those who delight in them." (Psalm 111:2)
Talk about it: What's something in nature you love to look at closely — clouds, ants, the ocean, the stars? Why do you think God made so much to explore?
2. God invites our questions
"Call to me, and I will answer you, and will show you great and difficult things, which you don't know." (Jeremiah 33:3)
Talk about it: What's a big question you've always wanted answered? Who can you ask — a parent, a teacher, or God himself in prayer?
3. Ask creation itself
"But ask the animals, now, and they shall teach you; the birds of the sky, and they shall tell you." (Job 12:7)
Talk about it: If you could ask an animal one question about how it lives, which animal would you pick, and what would you ask?
4. Searching things out is a good thing
"It is the glory of God to conceal a thing, but the glory of kings is to search out a matter." (Proverbs 25:2)
Talk about it: Have you ever kept asking questions or looking closer until you finally figured something out? How did it feel when you found the answer?

The next time your child asks another "why," these verses are a good reminder that questions aren't a problem to manage — they're part of how kids grow to know God's world, and the God who made it.
