The Good Samaritan for Kids: What It Really Means to Be a Neighbor

Bible & Faith • By Little Lamb Studios

A man asked Jesus what mattered most, and Jesus answered:

“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself.” (Luke 10:27, WEB)

Moved With Compassion

Then Jesus told a story: a traveler was hurt, and two people walked past — but:

“A certain Samaritan, as he traveled, came where he was. When he saw him, he was moved with compassion.” (Luke 10:33, WEB)

At the end, Jesus asked who had been a real neighbor, and said:

“Go and do likewise.” (Luke 10:37, WEB)

What It Looks Like Today

Talk about it: Sharing a swing, helping someone who dropped their crayons, sitting by someone new — three small, real chances to do the same thing today.

Family activity: make a “Kindness Band-Aid” card for someone having a hard week.
