When a child's mind is racing at bedtime, or worry creeps in before school, it helps to have real words to hold onto. Here are four Bible verses about peace for kids, straight from the World English Bible, with a simple talk-about-it question after each one so your family can make it your own.

1. A peace the world can't give
"Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you; not as the world gives, give I to you. Don't let your heart be troubled, neither let it be fearful." (John 14:27)
Talk about it: What is one thing that makes your heart feel troubled, and how can Jesus' peace help with it?
2. Peace that guards your heart
"And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:7)
Talk about it: What does it feel like when peace "guards" your heart, like a shield?
3. A steady mind trusts God
"You will keep whoever's mind is steadfast in perfect peace, because he trusts in you." (Isaiah 26:3)
Talk about it: What is one worry you could hand over to God today so your mind can feel steady?
4. Peace enough to sleep
"In peace I will both lay myself down and sleep, for you, Yahweh alone, make me live in safety." (Psalm 4:8)
Talk about it: What could you say to God right before bed to help you feel safe and sleepy?
